ABOUT THE ACADEMY
Square Root Academy is a S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) based non-profit organization dedicated to educating underrepresented youth on the fundamentals of S.T.E.A.M. while emphasizing collaborative learning, innovation, and academic excellence.
This goal is executed under our three key pillars: Community involvement, project based learning, and professional S.T.E.A.M. exposure. We expose Academy scholars to the growing field of S.T.E.A.M at no cost, while promoting creativity, leadership, and academic excellence.

Our STEAM Enrichment Series offers after school programming with fun STEAM activities for Scholars 5th through 12th grade.
NGSS Knowledge Gains
All curriculum is built around Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) guaranteeing Scholars are ready for the careers of the future.
Led by Certified Mentors
ALL learning sessions are led by ABET Accredited mentors on no more than a 1:7 mentor to Scholar ratio, to provide the individualized attention Scholars deserve.

Fall into September with Square Root Academy! School is in full swing, Autumn is right around the corner, and Square Root Academy is ready for another month with our STEAM scholars, families, and community! Keep reading to learn about our program launch at Lab7, as well as the successful launch of Square Root Academy’s Los Angeles branch! Artists are also invited to join us for Sacramentos' most ELECTRIC art show SRA’s 5000 Watts as partners in the experience.

Square Root Academy’s Los Angeles branch is in full swing! During our first course, scholars learned about generative Ai, UX Design, and SO much more~ In partnership with 100 Black Men of Los Angeles & the Best Buy Teen Tech Center, we had a BLAST supporting more STEAM education in our communities.

STEAM
Visit the Colonial Heights Library for some great youth STEAM activities! There will be a different, fun STEAM activity each week. Meet in the community room or outside in the garden on Tuesdays throughout September through November, from 3:30pm to 4:30pm.

Square Root Academy is curating a 3rd annual 1-day experience at the intersection of Art & Technology to bring together the community, inspire the next generation of makers, and light up Sacramento in a sea of larger than life illuminated installations! During this experience, artists & makers alike will be transforming Esther’s Park into an electric playground that is open to the whole family. This fusion of tech & art will showcase the vibrant culture that exists in Sacramento, powered by the people, for the people.
