Operations Lead


Reporting directly to the Executive Director, the Operations Lead is responsible for the overall operations and performance of the Academy. This includes maintaining relevant records, the implementation of site specific and companywide initiatives and communicating status of Academy to the Executive Director. In this role, the Operations Lead should have excellent written and verbal communication, strategy and understanding of the Academy’s mission and vision. The Operations lead shall be the primary contact for all team members within the Academy and responsible for the overall facilitation of education and special events execution as well as assisting with the solicitation of funding.

Compensation: $17.25 - $19.50/Hr (DOE)

Commitment: 35-40 Hrs/Week

Travel: Some


  • Communicating directly with district and schools

  • Responsible for maintaining communication with core team

  • Responsible for training of staff and attending professional development workshops monthly

  • Deliver Professional Development modules to core team

  • Assist in the procurement of funding through solicitation and grant writing

  • Responsible for maintaining communications with Sacramento office

  • This includes conveying district information, site specific information, weekly updates completed every Thursday

  • Ensure the completion and recording of administrative documents and filing for district. Documents are to be uploaded to a shareable drive for company wide reference

  • Staff documents: TB, fingerprinting, hiring documents, etc.

  • Scholar Documents: Reflections for all sites, test scores, attendance, parent teacher pacts, etc.

  • Ensure team and site quality assurance

  • Ensure lessons are ready for distribution four (4) weeks prior to teaching.

  • Maintain staff schedule for teaching, meetings, and all required Square Root Academy related items as necessary

  • Develop site reports to provide to district upon contract completion

  • Maintain calendar 

  • Communicate materials needed for office

  • Ensure contracts are completed as defined in the MOU between hiring party


  • Understanding of nonprofit organizational structure

  • Background in business, marketing, or management preferred

  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills

  • Excellent research skills

  • Knowledge of wealth and education disparities in underserved communities

  • Strategize and lead new initiatives in a team environment
